About Me.
Hi, I’m Dr. Allison Sargent, D.Ac. L.Ac., founder of Opal & Jade Acupuncture and Wellness. I was born and raised in Scioto County, and I have always cared deeply about the health and well-being of this community.

As I pursued my education and training in Columbus, I saw how valuable holistic and natural healthcare can be in helping people feel their best. I also recognized how much my hometown community needed and deserved greater access to this kind of care. That is what inspired me to return home after graduation and open Opal & Jade Acupuncture and Wellness.

Whether you are new to acupuncture or have experienced it before, my goal is to make you feel comfortable, confident, and cared for every step of the way.

It is truly an honor to serve the community that helped shape me, and I look forward to helping others feel healthier, balanced, and well.
Education
2025-2026
Doctorate of Acupuncture
Won Institute of Graduate Studies-
Warminster, PA (2026)
I earned my Doctorate of Acupuncture in July of 2026.

The doctoral completion program is designed for licensed acupuncturists to advance clinical expertise through enhanced training in complex case management, integrative diagnostics, and evidence-informed practice within Traditional Chinese Medicine. My studies have focused on refining advanced treatment strategies, strengthening clinical reasoning, and expanding my ability to effectively manage chronic and multi-layered conditions.

Through this program, I further developed my skills in patient-centered care, research literacy, and integrative approaches that bridge traditional theory with modern clinical application.
2024-2025
Licensure
After earning my Master’s degree and certification in Clean Needle Technique, I continued my training by preparing for my national board exams. My acupuncture education included over 2,000 hours of advanced graduate-level coursework and supervised clinical experience required for national board certification.

I successfully completed the three national board exams administered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), now the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM), which are required for licensure in most states. I became licensed in October 2025.

These exams cover Foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, Acupuncture Point Location and clinical application, and Biomedicine, which includes anatomy, physiology, and the safe integration of acupuncture within modern healthcare. This rigorous process deepened my clinical knowledge and prepared me to provide safe, effective, and evidence-informed patient care.

Masters of Acupuncture
AIAM- Columbus, OH (2023)
I earned my Master's of Acupuncture from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine, where I developed advanced clinical skills in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient-centered care.
